Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your Hiker Trash account and the user data associated with it. You can start the deletion process either inside the Hiker Trash app or from this page if you no longer have access to the app.

Option 1

Delete In The App

If you still have access to Hiker Trash, the fastest method is the account deletion control built into the app.

  1. Open Hiker Trash.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select Delete Account.
  4. Follow the confirmation steps shown in the app.

Option 2

Request Deletion By Email

You do not need the Hiker Trash app installed to request deletion. Send a deletion request to our support address.

When possible, send the request from the email address associated with your Hiker Trash account. If you contact us from another address, include the email address used for your account so we can verify ownership before deletion.

What Happens To Your Data

When your account deletion is completed, your Hiker Trash account and the user data associated with that account are permanently deleted. Account deletion is not temporary account deactivation or account freezing.

This includes Hiker Trash account/profile information and user-generated data associated with the account, such as hiking logs and other content stored for your account.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you later return to Hiker Trash, you will need to create a new account.

How Long Does It Take?

Requests submitted through support are generally completed within 30 days after we verify the account. We may contact you if additional information is needed to confirm that you own the account being deleted.
